Hello,

Is there any reason why:

v3 : VerbTransitive → NounPhrase → VerbPhraseInf ; – “love” → “love John”

is VerbPhraseInf instead of VerbPhraseFin ? Don’t we normally say – “love” → “loves John” ?

If I remember correctly there was another rule that turned the VerbPhraseInf in a VerbPhraseFin, which allows us to say “loves John”.
The reason to keep it as infinitive at first is that sometimes it stays just that. i.e. negation “doesn’t love John”
