homework week 11
Hello,
there is no class on 22.12.2015 as told by the prof during class. I couldn’t hear if there would be homework submission due on 22.12.2015 or not?
Is there homework due next week or not?
I hope the course index and crowdgrader dates are updated accordingly.
Homework is due by the next class, that is in January. Enjoy the season!
Correct, there is no homework due next week. The homework submission links will be updated today to reflect this change.
Thanks
Since there was some confusion, let me clarify what the next few weeks have in store for homework:
2015.12.22/Week 11 (Today):
- nothing is due.
2016.01.12/Week 12:
- Your Crowdgrader reviews of the academic reviews submitted on 2015.12.15/Week 10 (on the paper B+14).
- The assignment originally due on 2015.12.22, an academic review of paper SL11.
2016.01.19/Week 13:
- Your Crowdgrader rating of the reviews you received for your Week 10 submission.
- Your Crowdgrader reviews of the academic reviews submitted on 2016.01.12 (paper SL11).
- Your academic review of your classmate’s paper, submitted as a Crowdgrader review.
The links for all of these can be found in the homework submission links document.
Effectively, we extended the deadline for the Week 11 submission to Week 12, and deleted the original Week 12 submission, which was an academic review of paper S11. You should still do the required reading for Week 11 (F14, S03) and for Week 12 (J+93, V14) for class on Week 12.
Where I write ‘academic review’ I mean the review of a piece of literature as described in the last class, and where I write ‘Crowdgrader review’ I mean reviewing another student’s homework submission.
The Crowdgrader reviews for week 10 were mistakenly shown as due today; I have corrected this. If you already submitted your reviews that is fine - you can submit reviews any time between the class where the homework was submitted and the next class.
For the next week, all students should perform a review of a paper submitted by one of the students doing the 10 ECTS Project version of NYT. This review should be written as a review of an academic paper, thus similar to what you submitted for today’s assignment. You should be able to submit these as Crowdgrader reviews to the assignment Project students submitted today, even if you were not a Project student. (Attachments are enabled so you can write in the typical academic review structure.) We are using Crowdgrader in this way to ensure that the Project students aren’t given their own work to review and that each Project student gets some reviews. We’ll be looking over your reviews next week to see how well you’ve acquired the skill of writing academic reviews.
You are only asked to review one student paper, but if you want to practice writing reviews or you’re curious about what your classmates have been working on, you are welcome to provide additional reviews. Your classmates will probably appreciate additional input for their revisions.
