next video lecture
Dear AI-II STudentents.

the next lecture (today) is at https://www.video.uni-erlangen.de/clip/id/8988

I plan to always post the next lecture, but I am sure I will forget at some point, the overview over all videos is at https://www.video.uni-erlangen.de/course/id/657 so you can figure out for yourself (and/or post the link to the next one here yourself).

NOTE that there is also a version of the AI-II lecture in German (although even one year older) at https://www.video.uni-erlangen.de/course/id/542 This may be helpful as well.

Note that again, there will be a Q/A session (last time, ca. 30 students came and ca. 10 asked questions) see https://fsi.cs.fau.de/forum/post/163945 for details.

IMPORTANT! Technical issue with lecture video
Dear students,

here is a link to the third lecture, for today: https://www.video.uni-erlangen.de/clip/id/9012

As with other lectures, there are three versions you can view:

  • “video”,
  • “video & slides”,
  • “multistream player”.

The multistream player is the third button.

I’m getting the “video & slides” as default. For this lecture, it looks like something went wrong on the technical end when making the “video & slides” version - audio disappears after the half-time break. However, if you switch to multistream player, it is ok.

We are contacting the technical team behind the video lectures, in case something can be done. If you can’t use the multistream player, please let us know! (Either here in the forum or in the Q&A.)

P.S.: For those of you who are as new to watching lecture videos as I am, I’m finding that switching to 1.25 or 1.5 speed makes it easier for me to follow, strangely enough.

Have fun watching!
Katja

So I’ve watched lecture #6 today which would be the lecture video to watch tomorrow (May 6; https://www.video.uni-erlangen.de/clip/id/9064) as we are in week 3 of this semester. The lecture stops at slide #709 (chapter 20.4 Constructing Bayesian Networks) in the current lecture notes document (https://kwarc.info/teaching/AI/notes.pdf). The syllabus in the same document states that May 6 should end at slide number #740.

Was just wondering which one is correct and which one I should stick to to be able to work on the assignments as best as possible.

Note, I just used the recorded syllabus from the semester the videos were taken, and it can very well be that that contains errors. Another source of errors is that the slide numbers are not constant over the semester, so they can differ between the slides you see in the video and the (corrected and augmented) notes posted now.

But the sequencing of lectures does not really matter at all, just make sure that you watch them all and do not fall behind too much (then you have problems solving the homeworks).

Dear students,

Please feel free to remind us when we forget to post the next lecture videos.

The lecture for today was
https://www.video.uni-erlangen.de/clip/id/9155
Note that there is no video of slides, so it is recommended to have the notes somewhere close. I think it mostly works out that way, except for possibly in the end, where there are some references to “these arrows”. Ask questions in the Q&A if you feel like you don’t understand it!

Tomorrow, the lecture is
https://www.video.uni-erlangen.de/clip/id/9165

Cheers,
Katja

Since this actually was a bit of a problem for me specifically, I saw that there also exists a German recording (Künstliche Intelligenz II) from SS 2017 of that lecture (and a bit more).
That could be helpful for others too. The obvious drawback: It’s in German and not in English.

Thanks for the link to the German version! This should be helpful to at least some.

Due to the Bergwoche, there will be only one lecture next week (Wednesday).
