[Official] Organization of the AI-I Lecture and Tutorials (online)
Dear Students,

Unfortunately, the lecture Artificial Intelligence I (AI-1 will be online-only (like AI-2 last semester). Here are the details (current plan)

Lectures: Generally (but see below for the first lecture) I will organize the course in “inverted classroom style”. That means that we will provide lecture recordings and notes, which you will use for preparing the plenary sessions (zoom sessions (use https://fau.zoom.us/j/96292478337) at the planned lecture times: Tue, Wed 16:15 - 17:45) where we will discuss the material based on your questions and discussion challenges prepared by the instructor.

Course Materials and lecture recordings: i.e. what you will use to prepare

  • as always, you can find the course materials at https://kwarc.info/teaching/AI. In particular the course notes at https://kwarc.info/teaching/AI/notes.pdf.
  • recordings of past AI-1 lectures (german and English) are under https://fau.tv.
  • But we will try to re-package these into smaller topics corresponding to sections in the course notes. I hope that these will be easier to swallow and understand than the 90 minute lecture recordings. I will assign multiple of these topics for each pleanary sessions.

Tutorials: will be held via zoom, mostly like the presence-tutorial in the last semesters. We will experiment what works best. We are considering making podcasts of worked examples additionally. Florian Rabe will post more details as they become apparent.

The first lecture will be on Tuesday 4. November 2020 at https://fau.zoom.us/j/96292478337. This will be a regular lecture where I will present the organizational details. Plenary sessions, homeworks, and tutorials will start later, probably in the second week.

If you have questions, please ask them by replying to this thread. I will make more details available here as the become clear.

I am looking forward to meeting you in November,

Michael Kohlhase

1 „Gefällt mir“

We have been making good progress on this front, see https://fau.tv/course/id/1690. This will develop further over the semester. And I will cross-reference the video nuggets with the course notes at https://kwarc.info/teaching/notes.pdf.

Hello,

did you mean 3rd of November (Tuesday) or 4th of November (Wednesday)?

Veronika

1 „Gefällt mir“

Indeed I did. Thanks for the clarification.

Do we have to register for the excercises? If so, where?

2 „Gefällt mir“

Sadly I missed the first 2 lecutres, because of some personal matters, so I would like to know if I still can register for the course somewhere and if so, where?

There is a post about this now on this forum.

No, you do not have to register for the course (only for the exam at the end of the semester), but it is a good idea to register for the course on studon.

EDIT: Just found out, please ignore.
Will the tutorials start this week (i.e. today, if I got it right)? My last info was “this or next week”.

Upload of notes
Dear AI1 Team,

is it possible to upload the new chapters/material of notes seperately, instead of just one big notes.pdf which grows bigger? I’m writing on my tablet and it gets more and more time consuming to extract only the new note pages to add to the existing (with my own notes). This would help me very much!
Many thanks in advance!
