Student Assistant – Audio Signal Processing for Automotive Applications

Student Assistant – Audio Signal Processing for Automotive Applications

Our division »Audio and Media Technologies« constitutes one of the world’s largest organizations dedicated to audio, speech and media processing. It has been an innovator in sound and vision for over 25 years.

We are the automotive team of Fraunhofer IIS, developing technologies that are already contributing to the user experience in many cars like the Audi e-tron and the Cupra Leon, among many others. We focus on technologies in the field of audio signal processing. Typically, we proactively develop new technologies that can be part of products rather than waiting for customer requests. As a research institution our customers expect from us to solutions that outperform the state-of-the-art. At the same time the standards for efficiency and reliability are very high in the automotive industry.

This is why we need more support and you could help us with that!

You obtained skills in signal processing and you are looking for a task to apply them?
You know the theory but you wonder how all this is important to real-world applications?
You want to drive technology further towards products that can be bought all over the world?

Then have a look at our offer!

What you will do

  • You collaborate closely with our researchers
  • You implement newly developed algorithms to assess them in simulations
  • You contribute to data acquisition in form of measurements and recordings
  • You draft reports documenting the results obtained
  • You bring-in your own ideas to improve the approaches under consideration
  • You implement real-time programs to demonstrate applications to users
  • You support our software team in their daily work and long-term projects
  • You conduct research on audio signal processing in the automotive audio field

What you bring to the table
