Working Student for Machine Learning-based Retrieval of Medical Images and Clinical Data
Research department Imaging and Computer Vision at Siemens Corporate Technology is one of the worldwide leading research and development groups in the areas Medical Computer Vision, Medical Data Integration and Machine Learning. In particular, we develop advanced algorithms, which make intelligent search in and understanding of heterogeneous clinical data, including images, genetic data and laboratory tests, possible. Related developments are aimed to essentially ease the workload of clinicians, in that they would be able to intelligently retrieve and analyze relevant patient information from large heterogeneous clinical databases.

Your task:
In the framework of this student work, a Web-based prototype for machine learning-based clinical data retrieval and decision support will be further developed. In particular, algorithms for machine learning-based data clustering and intelligent case retrieval and visualization will be implemented and integrated with the prototype. The work will be accomplished in the framework of a large EU-funded multi-center research project MD-Paedigree involving 22 clinical, industrial and academic collaborators.

Your profile:
We seek motivated Computer Science students (at least 4th semester) with good programming skills in Java and JavaScript. Skills in statistics and data analysis as well as experience in data management in distributed systems are desired.

Interested?
Offered is a stimulating and motivating work in medical informatics in a worldwide renowned company, with responsible colleagues and corresponding allowance. The work will take place at a Siemens Research Center in Erlangen.
